I am new in the faith. What do you recommend I do first?
Start making your prayer life a priority and read the Bible. We recommend starting in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Those books in the Bible give you a solid foundation to build your faith. Lastly go to a biblical founded church.
Which translation would you recommend I would read in relation to the Bible?
In Slovene there are not a lot of translations. The older one is the SSP. In English we would recommend the New Living Translation. Why? Because it is easy to read and understand without taking away the core of the message.
I don't want to come alone to the church services. Is it allowed to bring others with you?
A great question! It is definitely allowed to bring others with you. This is actually what happened in the first church in the book of Acts. People brought people.
I am new in the faith. What do you recommend I do first?
We are a pentecostal church. We came out of the Protestant movement and believe in the truth of the Bible and the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
You mentioned going to a biblical founded church. What do you mean by that?
In Slovenia we have a lot of churches. What a follower of Christ needs (that's the meaning of being a christian) is a church that is not only preaching the Bible but also living according to it. You are welcome to come to one of our services.
What are the core focus points of your church?
We follow the teachings of Jesus and especially His last commandment. This is written in the book of Matthew chapter 28. We focus on evangelism so people can hear the gospel. Next to that we focus on discipleship. This is equipping people to do the will of God. We do that through practical appliance of the Bible. Lastly we are part of a church fellowship and prepare married couples to be sent out into the mission field. This can be national or international.
Why is the name of the church called like this?
In the book of Jeremiah chapter 18 God is called the Potter. We believe that God will build the church like the Potter makes His pottery. He will form and shape according to His will.
I was baptized as a child. Does that mean I am saved according to the Bible?
According to the Bible, you are not saved. Jesus said in John 3 that unless someone is born again, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
